4K, real-time weather effects, improved visuals, and cross-saves!
Kalypso Media and Gaming Minds Studios have announced today that 17th-century trading simulator Port Royale 4 will be releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 10th with a chest full of improvements for the second outing.
The next-gen version of the game will ship with improved visuals, native 4K resolutions, cross-gen save functionality (so that you can bring your PS4 save to PS5,) enhanced weather simulation, and improved lighting. Lots of stuff then, and it’s better seen than read – check out the trailer down below.
Port Royale 4 will release on September 10th for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. You’ll be able to get a digital copy of the game, either in its Standard or Extended editions. If you prefer to be able to hold your games in your hands, there will be a boxed version that also offers a Standard and Extended Edition, with the latter offering some extra in-game content.
There’s no word yet on whether this next-gen version will be offered as a free upgrade for current-gen owners of Port Royale 4. I’ve asked the question to the publisher and I’ll report back here if/when I get a reply.
