Remasters and remakes are still in fashion and 24-year-old Postal is the latest to get a facelift for PS4.
Polish porting house MD Games will be bringing the Running With Scissors’ controversial twin-stick shooter Postal Redux to PS4 on March 5th, 2021, after a successful run on PC and, more recently, Nintendo Switch, which we actually covered over on our all-encompassing YouTube.
Postal Redux is more than just a simple remaster, though. Many re-releases get away with a simple upping the resolution and calling it a day. Not Postal Redux. This one includes new levels as well as a new game mode call Rampage.
In Postal Redux, the player is tasked with… well, just causing carnage, basically. Through a variety of levels you’ll take your character on balls-to-the-wall shootouts with the only goal being: kill all sumbitches. It’s as simple as that. It’s a game from the 90s… Things were a lot simpler back then.
I played the Switch version last year and really enjoyed it, particularly its portability. Naturally, the PS4 version loses that key feature, but we’ll see how it plays on the big screen as well as the PS Vita via Remote Play. See, there’s still life yet in the little thing…
Postal Redux will release on March 5th for PS4, and will be playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
