Sony has pushed out a new trailer today to celebrate the impending release of the PS5 console which will release on November 12th in North America and selected markets, and November 19th in the rest of the world.
The trailer really does lean in to being a “launch” trailer, featuring lots of, well, launches. See for yourself in the trailer up above. It’s only a minute long, but it’s jam-packed full of inspirational launches and the promise of “new worlds to explore,” no doubt referring to the next-gen experiences we’ll all get – whenever they actually get here; there aren’t that many next-gen only games in the near future, and it’ll be 2021 until we see some true next-gen exclusives.
For many, though, this trailer will serve as a stinging reminder that the PS5 is coming but not for everybody. The pre-order fiasco has led to many, including myself, not being able to secure a console before release. And, given the state of the world, it could be a long time before more consoles are available to buy. To be fair, the situation is similar with the Xbox Series X, and I’ve had to get myself an Xbox Series S to fill the gap until the PS5 and Xbox Series X are available again. First world problems, right?
