If you want to pre-order a PS5 and guarantee yourself a console this side of Christmas, you can pre-order one now via UK retailer GAME.
The UK retailer currently has 16 various PS5 pre-order bundles. You can pre-order the console by itself, or you can get one of the many bundles that include one or more of the accessories. The most expensive bundle comes in just shy of £700, and for your money, you get a full-fat PS5 with a disc drive, as well as one of each available accessory. The cheapest bundle is the standalone PS5 Digital Edition, costing the RRP £359.99.
The pre-orders are open, so if you really want to reserve one, you can. Be quick, mind you, as these are sure to run out within weeks, if not days.
Today’s PS5 showcase brought more than a few announcements, too. The big one that had many gasping for air as the show hit its final notes was the tease for God of War: Ragnarok. Sony also announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales would be available on PS4 as well as PS5, a sharp turnaround from the previously held line of “next-gen only.” Of course, we also got the good news that PS5 players who have an active PS Plus subscription would be treated to some free games available on day one. This has been dubbed The PS Plus Collection, and it carries with it a selection of the best PS4 games, including The Last of Us Remastered, God of War, and Battlefield 1.
[Update: Aaaaaand I’ve just secured my pre-order. See you on the other side!]
[Update: 3:30AM BST – It looks like the PS5 pre-order page has been well and truly battered – it’s now not loading, no doubt due to the stress of thousands of would-be buyers trying to access the page.]
[Update: 12:00PM BST – Amazon UK has also opened up pre-orders. However, the page keeps flitting between “available” and “unavailable.”]
