After a long wait, PUBG has been announced for the PS4. The iconic game drops 100 players into a battle-royale style match with the last person alive winning a digital chicken dinner as the top prize. Who knew that life’s biggest rewards were made with herbs and spices?
You can start playing on December 7th, but you can pre-order today. It will net you a Nathan Drake skin and Ellie’s Backpack from The Last of Us. You will also receive an avatar and theme.
The game will come in three main versions. First, we have the physical and Looters Digital Edition of the games for $29.99 USD / $39.99 CAD. The Survivor’s Digital Edition will run you $59.99 USD / $79.99 CAD, and you will receive the game, Survival Pass: Vikendi, 2,300 G-Coin Pack, and 20,000 BP. The Champion’s Digital Edition costs $89.99 USD / $119.99 CAD. The only change is that you receive a 6,000 G-Coin Pack. (I checked the EU PlayStation Blog, but no prices were given.)
In the beginning, the game will have the Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok maps, but a snowy map is slated for release later this winter. It’s good to see so many games still being announced towards the end of the year, and, on December 7th, we’ll see if PUBG will make a big splash on Sony’s console.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
