Pumpkin Jack, the spooky platformer by solo developer Nicolas Meyssonnier, finally has a PS4 release date, months after releasing on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC.
The MediEvil-inspired platformer will release on PS4 on February 24th, 2021, and to celebrate the game’s eventual PS4 release we have a new Pumpkin Jack PS4 trailer.
Players take control of Pumpkin Jack who is on a mission from the Devil himself. You’ll have to run, jump, battle, and think your way through each creepy level, with physics puzzles and platforming segments breaking up the epic battles.
The game may use the latest graphic technologies – it was built using the powerful Unreal Engine 4 – but it takes inspiration from the PS2 era of gaming, with the likes of Jak & Daxter and MediEvil laying the groundwork, and that’s easy to see from the trailer. It’s very 2005 – in a good way.
Pumpkin Jack originally released last year for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC where it was met with very positive reviews from critics and players alike. At the time of writing, the game is sitting on a “Very Positive” rating on Steam and a solid 80/10 on Metacritic.
