October is well underway and that means we’ll all be a little poorer a little sooner, thanks to this month’s big releases. One of the early ones to release this month was Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, do don’t be surprised to find a good chunk of the Pure PlayStation team delving deep into the open world of ancient Greece this weekend.
As is the norm, myself and the rest of the Pure PlayStation team tell you, the readers, what we’re doing this weekend. We also invite you to share your gaming plans down in the comments, or maybe give us suggestions on what to play next. Your choice! Without further waffle from me, here’s what the Pure PlayStation team is doing this weekend:
I’m very late to the party, but I recently acquired Call of Duty: WW2. It was a bargain at 25€, and as I’ll only play the story mode and zombies, I can’t complain. When I’m not bashing in Nazi skulls, I’ll be bashing in ancient Greek ones in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. And when I just don’t want to bash skulls anymore you’ll find me whipping around the countryside in Forza Horizon 4 on the Xbox One X. Look, I know we’re a PlayStation website, but great games deserve recognition no matter where they’re played – and Forza Horizon 4 is a stunningly good game. If only we could play it on the PSVR…
This weekend will once again be filled mostly by hanging out with actual, physical people. I feel my gamer cred will take a hit for this. I’m skipping Odyssey for now but with Red Dead 2 and the beta to Fallout 76 coming soon, my PS4 will get tons of love in the near future.
I’ll be continuing my adventure through the vast and luscious world of ancient Greece in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Look out for my review coming soon.
I’m one trophy short to platinum 2MD VR Football, so that is my mission this weekend. Also, I’ll be playing some Firewall Zero Hour, so if anybody wants to squad up, add HarryStamper49. We can shoot things and run around like a pack of useless tossers trying to find that last signal jammer.
My un-fun to do list has grown a little long in recent weeks, so it looks as though the console will remain off for the good part of the weekend. I do want to get at least half an hour playing The Witcher 3, mind you, or I’ll never reach the expansions.
This weekend, I will be trying to slice out some more time with Yakuza Kiwami 2. My general impression is that it feels…different somehow. I will try to beat some answers out of the local thugs, delinquents, and yakuza to get to the bottom of it. I will also try to get an opinion piece out next week. It’s been too long since I shared.
On the recommendation of fellow Purist Max I will be jumping into the classical world of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, knowing well in advance that it will probably eat into the few remaining weekends until Red Dead takes over my life.
And that’s what we’re doing this fine weekend. So what are your plans? Drinking in excess? Dabbling in drugs? Or, god forbid, dabbling with other, non-PlayStation consoles? Tell us down below you drunken, druggy heathens.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
