The season for being jolly may be over but the season for sweet gaming is all-year-round. We’ve had some big releases already this month with the likes of Metro: Exodus and Far Cry New Dawn, as well as a slew of other titles. There’s plenty to play but, for most us, not enough time to play them. That’s what the weekend is for. No excuses for boredom. As the almighty Jay says: “boredom is the road to relapse.”
As we do near enough every week, the Pure PlayStation team has gathered their gaming plans for the weekend to share with our digital stalkers. Here’s what the PP crew is getting up to this weekend:
I’ve got so much to do. So. Much. To. Do. I’ve got reviews that need be written. I’ve got games that need to be played before they can be reviewed. And I’ve not got enough time to do everything whilst maintaining a healthy sleep schedule. Woe be me, right? Wrong!
This weekend I’ll be getting behind the wheel of Dirt Rally 2.0 with a review coming early next week. I’ll also be living out a childhood nightmare in Intruders: Hide and Seek on PSVR. I’m also making grounds on Modern Combat 5: Blackout on Nintendo Switch with the view to having a review out on Pure Ninty next week. That’s not all. I’ve got Crackdown 3 vying for my time, too, and I’m aiming to have that one finished up in time for a review next week on Pure Xbox. I’ll also be inserting a catheter to eliminate my need to go pee-pee, as well as getting a Red Bull IV drip sorted out to eliminate the need for sleep. Wish me luck…
I’ll be playing back through Metro Exodus to mop up some trophies. The more I play this game, the more I like it. I’ll also find some time to continue Ni No Kuni 2, soaking in the gorgeous art style and revelling in its charming atmosphere, as well as playing a game for review.
I feel the great sickness receding ever so slightly in my bedridden week and will take the weekend to hopefully fully recover. Here’s to my fever dream insanity putting together an interesting video game experience so I can pretend I’m playing games.
After finally bagging that sweet 2MD VR Football platinum trophy, I’m committing myself to platinuming Creed: Rise to Glory in VR. It’s a great workout, and I need to tighten up the screws before beach season, if you know what I mean. Sincere apologies for that mental image. And if fortune smiles on me, perhaps the squad will get together for another night of Firewall Zero Hour.
Now that Dragon Quest Builders 2 has finally got a launch date, I’ll be finishing up the few missions I’ve got left in the first. Any further spare time will be spent trying to understand what Project Cars 3 will be – ‘less sandbox, more fun’ makes it sound a little confused in the identity department…
I will be delivering a sexy review and working on other reviews. I bought Far Cry 5 in the Ubisoft sale, so I would like to explore (read: shoot) that world. It seems to combine two of my life goals – the longtime goal of leading a cult and my newer goal of moving to a beautiful ranch in Montana. I’m looking forward to getting a few pointers on both.
I’m finally back online so will be jumping in on a game to review and continuing to battle my VR aversion, having breaks by blasting about in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy or by seeing what all the fuss is about this Apex Legends.
That’s what we’re up to this week, so go on and share your gaming plans down in the comments section below.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
