The weekend has arrived, my dears, so throw off your work clothes and embrace your smelly jogging pants and your stained t-shirt, for it is the uniform of the gamer. Probably.
As usual, the world has kept on spinning long enough for us all to enjoy another weekend on this planet. What lucky sods we all are. It’s the perfect time to kick back, forget about whatever crap you’ve got going on, and just lose yourself in some (hopefully!) decent games.
We’re a busy bunch here at Pure PlayStation but we’re all going to be doing a bit of playing this weekend. We’re actually proud to say that our very own Max Taylor is now a part of the PSVR posse, after having picked himself up a headset during the week.
Here’s what we’re up to this weekend:
The Mrs and The Lord (my son) will be flying away to Wales today, so I’ll have the house to myself. Not just for the weekend, mind you, but the entire week! Think of the possibilities! I’m already salivating over the fact I’ll be able to play PSVR uninterrupted. The fact I’ll be able to go on a rampage in GTA V without the Mrs telling me that it’s insensitive to the current political climate. The fact I can eat ice cream from my shoe if I want to. It’s an eventuality, really…
In between defending waves of attacks from would-be comedic burglars, I’ll be using my freedom to knock a couple of last-minute reviews out the door for March. I’ve also got a lot of catching up to do when it comes to news. What’s been going on? Who’s the internet outraged at now? Are we cancelling somebody today?
I’ve been playing through Assassin’s Creed Odyssey lately, but now that I’ve finished the main story I think it’s time to put it to rest so I can finally dig into Far Cry New Dawn. That’s my weekend, and a bit of Firewall Zero Hour, naturally.
Kyle “Limp” Durant
After an exhausting move that has left me quite literally limp, I have to put more work into my Earth Defense Force Iron Rain and Division 2 review. However, the usual assortment of titles might get some playtime if friends are on like always.
I will be working on some reviews, but I will also get some more time with Path of Exile and the Zanki Zero demo. Both are pleasantly living up to my expectations so far. I have some non-gaming work that will devour a chunk of my weekend too, but that’s my plan until it changes.
I just got PSVR and I’m absolutely addicted to Astro Bot so I’ll probably just play that all weekend and get the platinum. I fear once I have had my way with it a void shall remain within me that may never again be filled!
I’m resisting Assassin’s Creed III until it launches on Switch as the PS4 version would only end up at the back of the backlog. Instead, I’m going to devote my time to Borderlands 2 in anticipation of the third.
The rest of the gang is marching in London. Not for Brexit; they’ve always fantasised about being a Royal Beefeater, so that’s what they’re doing. Weirdos…
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
