Going out on adventures with noting more than a bike a few friends in tow is sooooo 1983… These days, we can go and the grandest of adventures from the comfort of our living rooms, all thanks to the marvel that is modern video games. What a time to be alive.
Besides, why would anyone want to venture outside of their home into the searing heat when you could be sat inside with the glorious air conditioning? There’s no good reason, really, and exercise is the weak answer in this scenario. So, for your own good, I implore you to stay indoors, pull the blinds, crank the AC up so you’ve got a nice, almost unhealthy chill in the air, and play some bloody games. And don’t you dare say you have nothing to play; there are numerous deals on the PlayStation Stores on either side of the pond, so find something.
Here’s what we’re doing this weekend to avoid the heat/physical exertion:
This weekend I am free from my day job! Yes!!! But it means I’ll have to spend some time in the garden cutting the grass. I know, I’m scum. Can’t even follow my own advice… Once I’m done bringing my garden up to German standards I’ll be back indoors with some games. This weekend I’ll be playing FIA European Truck Racing Championship Racing for review. Yeah, I also had no idea that trucks could race, but we’ll see if it’s any good once I get my hands on it. I’ve also got Monster Jam Steel Titans to get stuck into for another review, though things aren’t looking good on that front… And finally, I’ll be getting back into Firewall Zero Hour on PSVR. It’s been a long while since I’ve laughed the night away inside my PSVR headset, so hopefully the game works enough for me to do so on Saturday night.
I see the light at the end of the tunnel for this amazing backlog streak. After completing 20 video games since just a few weeks ago, including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which is what I’m currently working on, I only have Shadow Warrior 2 left to look forward too. It’s only $10 on the PS Store after all. Then a nice and calm wait (read: drought) until Borderlands 3 releases.
I’ll be travelling and working this weekend, so I won’t be gaming much. If I do play, it’ll probably be grinding in Octopath Traveler before I go to sleep just because it’s so convenient.
I’m off to a wedding tomorrow so once I’ve recovered from all the food, drink and celebratory body gyrating I shall spend Sunday finishing off Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle and maybe even have time to finally get started on Mark of the Ninja.
Hannah, Stuart and Jeremy are all missing. I’d make a joke about them being up a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, but they wouldn’t appreciate it.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
