The nights are drawing in now, aren’t they? Those hot summer nights are nothing more than a distant memory. I tell you what, as much as I complained about being too hot in the summer, having to scrape the ice off my car in the morning is infinitely worse.
What isn’t bad, though, is all the extra gaming time winter brings. Because who wants to go and kick a ball around when it’s freezing and dark at 6 PM, right? Those extra gaming hours are a godsend at this time of year, too, what with all the new releases.
As always, the Pure PlayStation team is going to be taking a couple of days to relax. We’ll post a little bit of news and maybe a review or two, but here’s what we’ll be doing with our weekend:
I recently got the Oculus Quest, and the novelty has not yet worn off. I’ve sat in a virtual cinema with strangers and watched Star Wars. I’ve wielded a lightsaber and swung it around like a pillock. I’ve seen the future of adult entertainment, too. It’s amazing. I reckon most of my weekend will be spent blocking out the horrific outside world by doing some virtual fishing, hanging in a virtual cinema – basically pretending the rest of the world doesn’t exist.
During those rare hours that I’m not living out my own Ready Player One scenario, I’ll be sat at my computer tapping up some reviews. Expect to see my words on GRID, L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, and more.
I’ll be sweeping up the last remaining trophies in Concrete Genie as well as writing my review of the game. Otherwise, I’ll be doing illustration work, celebrating my mum’s birthday and stressing about uni, in that order.
Creeping out of the shadows, it’s cherry popping time for me and my Plays. It’s an action-packed one. I’ll be fusing carp with bloodworms, enticing strangers to accompany me on a perilous pub crawl, and ensuring I retain the remainder of my hair while scavenging for dirty water. So, that’s The Fisherman – Fishing Planet, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Fallout 76, for the laughs. Pending I can free up some disk space for the latter…
The season of way too many games is nearly upon us, and already my backlog is starting to creep up on me. Between busting some ghosts in Ghostbusters, exploring Pandora in Borderlands 3 and a game for review, I’ve got a fairly solid weekend ahead of me – I’m determined to finish at least one of the above before I throw money down on Concrete Genie.
In between some wedding events this weekend, I’ll be trying to finish a couple of reviews, so I can finally talk about them. I will also have Toni Braxton’s Un-Break My Heart on repeat while I think about Doom Eternal’s delay, but game delays are better than trash games and endless patches to fix them.
I’m hiding from the real world for a few days. But after finishing the last two Assassin’s Creed’s, I am completely open worlded out. So, I’m back to my haven that is Yakuza Kiwami 2 ahead of the Remastered collection due out next year.
I’m going to wrap up my Battle Planet: Judgement Day review and then sit impatiently as I wait for The Outer Worlds to release.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
