After a very long wait, we finally have the chance to play the sequel to one of last gen’s greatest games. The Last of Us Part II will be stealing a lot of time this weekend from players who have heard the hype and controversy and want to find out for themselves. Will it be a masterpiece that other games strive to be, or will it be a huge disaster? (Middle ground? What’s that?)
A few of us are already deep into the game, and our own Chris and Max will be discussing it for another Pure Talk and Pony Tails on our YouTube channel. We’ll have a review up ASAP, but, if you’re looking for a longer, lighthearted discussion to balance out the game’s heavy themes, keep an eye out for that.
Here is what’s keeping our PS4’s fan spinning this weekend. How about you?
No big rambling exposition from me, I called it last weekend what I would be playing – The Last of Us Part 2. Having got a few hours in I am already loving it, so far it appears Naughty Dog have done it again!
Yep, The Last of Us 2 is on my weekend schedule, but I first have to spend an entire day at work.
So far it’s pretty good, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes. It’s a bit gory, mind you, so I’ll be playing some light and cheerful games in between, like The Crew 2 on Google’s Stadia on my phone. It’s good fun, though I did get a little sad driving through the in-game Las Vegas. I was supposed to be there this month – damn you, Rona!
Between The Last of Us Part II and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated I’ll be experiencing the duality of man in its most pure, raw, and porous form.
My entry this week should be that I’ll be playing The Last of Us Part 2, right? Unfortunately, I have a few personal things to sort out this weekend, so I’m not entirely sure I’ll have the time to give the game the attention it truly deserves. In the meantime, I may try and sneak in a cheeky match or two of Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist if I can.
I didn’t even realise it was Friday… Anyhoo, my weekend will be spent with Crash Bandicoot on the PSOne after all this talk of a fourth. Aside from that, I will probably be browsing eBay for a few more games.
After spending the last 3 days binging the original remastered version of The Last of Us, I think I’ll play something a little lighter this weekend and allow myself some time to decompress. I’m making a title run on Super Mega Baseball 3, and I’m anxious to see how the off-season goes. But it’s only a matter of time before I put all of that aside for more end of the world misery. Besides, after 2020, it’ll probably just feel like another day.
I’ll be finishing up a review or two and diving back into the backlog. Path of Exile’s big update is coming next week, so I may try to hit the end game in the current league before trying the new content.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
