Pure PlayStation Plays: Week 269

weekend gaming at the beach

Only 31 more weeks until we hit that big week 300 milestone. Wonder what will happen when we get there?

Nice weather is battering the UK right now so most of the Pure PlayStation team will be swapping the DualShocks for deckchairs and Call of Duty for Call a Chippy. Make the most of it, right? Summer lasts but a day on those windy shores…

Here’s what we’re all up to this weekend.

I’ve got a mountain of work to catch up on – don’t I always? To my delight, some of that work will involve playing some games. I’ve still got to finish off Metro Exodus on PS5 for review, so I reckon that’ll take up a big chunk of my time. My go-to game of the minute is Boxed In. I’m hopelessly addicted to it… I’m also the #1 on the leaderboards. Humblebrag? Nothing humble about it!

I intend to take it easy for the next couple of days, so my gaming choices might be on the lighter side. However, I’ve recently started replaying Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Strom and may continue with that whilst enjoying the short period of nice weather we’re getting here over in the UK.

I seem to have gotten sick and therefore, any games I’m playing this weekend will need to require as little effort as possible. That’s why I’m going to spend it on Red Dead Redemption 2 Online or maybe Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. Otherwise, it will be Animal Crossing in the sun while I recover.

Right now the UK is experiencing what feels like the hottest heatwave on record, so of course, I’m stuck in the house because of Covid – not me but I was pinged as is the lingo nowadays. Usually, I would be over the moon to be stuck inside playing video games but when my house feels like it is baking me alive it’s not really a good time.

Saying that I’ve just platinumed Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 and I’m toying with the idea of downloading CyberPunk 2077 after the devs said it was fixed. Some may call me crazy, or it could be the heat has gone to my head, but that is looking extremely likely.
