This weekend looks an awful lot like last weekend: hot, miserable, and full of responsibilities. Hopefully, you sexy gamers can make room for a little you-time and play some games. Besides, the real world will start back up again in a few days, so crank up the air conditioning if you can and try to relax.
It’s damn hot here in flyover country, so I’m going to stay in, play some games, and enjoy the central air. I might give the PS5 a break this weekend and finally give A Township Tale on the Quest 2 a legitimate chance. I tried it on launch day but the tutorial was a bit of a drag and the release of Totally Baseball, the only good VR baseball game, was just too fun to stop playing. But this time I’m going to seriously try to play something different. No guarantees, though.
Like plenty of weekends before this one, I plan to complete some amazing games that I should have finished months ago. This weekend I hope to finally complete the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 – I know it’s shocking that it has taken me this long. When I’m not horsing around on Red Dead I’ll probably be working on reviews or wasting my hours on Harvest Moon.
As it is finally the summer holidays here in the UK my plan is to finally beat back some of my backlog, starting with Outriders and working my way from there. After I bought Ghosts of Tsushima on disc last year before buying a digital PS5, I am seriously tempted with the Directors Cut releasing on the 20th August on the condition that I can get a grip on the games currently taunting me on my Home Screen, so I’m using that as the carrot on the end of the stick.
I’m the not biggest enthusiast of hot weather. So, the fact that the past week, I’ve been living in a part of the UK where an extreme heat-weather warning was issued didn’t lead to much gaming antics but instead resulted in me sitting in front of a fan eating ice cream. Hopefully, the rest of the week will be different. I want to continue with Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Strom that I started replaying last week, but recently The Forest was suggested to me, and now with the game being on sale, I’m pretty tempted to give it a go.
