Deep Silver and Codemasters have done racing fans a solid this week by releasing the first official gameplay trailer for the upcoming GRID, which is due to release later this year.
The ‘Race for Glory’ trailer, which you can watch up above, is only a 64-seconds in length, but it has shown enough to get this racing fan excited for the return of one of the best racing series. Seriously, why has it taken so long for GRID to come to PS4? It’s a travesty, I tell you!
“The response to the GRID announcement has been incredible and there is genuine excitement for us to reveal much more of the game,” said Chris Smith, GRID Game Director at Codemasters. “We set out to create an exhilarating racing experience which is like no other and the new trailer gives our fans a glimpse of what to expect. Players will encounter challenging and combative racing from all the AI drivers and this creates a living, breathing world where anything is possible and finishing positions must be earned. Whether it’s competing in the middle of the pack or going wheel-to-wheel for victory, there are no easy wins and our players will both enjoy and marvel at our most competitive GRID to date.”
GRID is set to release on October 11th, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One. Those who pre-order the game or its Ultimate Edition will receive the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 as a bonus car. I’m ashamed to say that, despite being a lover of racing games, I’ve no idea what that car is and if it’s worth dropping a pre-order for it. I’ll leave that to you to decide.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
