Sony has once again made their Triple A intentions clear by buying Insomniac Games – the masterminds behind Marvel’s Spider-Man. But the studio is also mother hen to Ratchet and Clank, which is something not lost on their new owners.
You see, fans have been hoping for a new adventure for a long time. But nothing has been forthcoming. However, that could be all set to change with this new arrangement. At least, that’s what you can read into things if these comments are anything to go by.
Shawn Laydon told The Hollywood Reporter that the underappreciated double act are definitely part of the company’s future, even if he didn’t elaborate further. But if you consider the bigger picture, it’s not too far fetched to think the next platforming instalment will come on the PlayStation 5.
“We like what they’ve been doing in the Spider-Man franchise and things like Ratchet & Clank are certainly vital series in the present and future.
“That’s what we’re concentrating on.”
Which definitely reads to me as if a new game is incoming. Don’t you agree?
