Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Gets a Series-First Mode That Shutterbugs Will Love

Sony recently announced the release date for its next big PS5 exclusive, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Insomniac Games has also confirmed a series-first will be included in the next-gen only release.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will no doubt blast us all away when it releases on June 11th, 2021 with its next-gen graphics and performance, but this time around there’s an extra mode for players to fiddle around with.

As well as including next-gen ray tracing, super-fast loading and bigger and better levels, the game will also ship with a Photo Mode for players to use. Or, in my case, to fiddle with once and never use again…

Ratchet & Clank for the PS4, which was a brilliant remake of the original game, didn’t come with a Photo Mode. Why? No idea, but this glaring omission is being fixed for the next-gen follow-up. Perfect for all those digital shutterbugs who can’t stop posting their pictures on Twitter… You know who you are.

With the recent announcement of the game’s release date, Sony and Insomniac answered fan’s burning question before making them ask another: Who is THAT on the new box art?

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart releases June 11th, 2021 and will be exclusive to the PS5. It’ll also cost $70/£70.

That Photo Mode had better be bloody worth it…
