Insomniac Games has shared some details on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s day one update and what improvements it will bring to the PS5 exclusive.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will have a few different performance modes when it releases on PS5 this June 11th, but they will be reserved for those who update the game via the day-one update that’s due to go live soon. Without updating the game, players will not get the different performance options.
Insomniac has confirmed this via Twitter, stating that there’s a launch day update that is needed to gain access to the “performance and performance RT modes.”
RT means ray-tracing, and the modes available will be variations of ray tracing on and off, something we’ve already seen Insomniac Games do with Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Spider-Man Remastered on PS5, and with great success.
Insomniac Games also shared a short clip of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart running at 60FPS with ray tracing enabled. Check it out below!
