Winking VR has announced today that it is bringing Reborn: A Samurai Awakens to PSVR before the end of this year. Announced via a press release and a post over on the official PlayStation Blog, Winking VR has also put together a trailer showing off some of the gameplay.
Reborn: A Samurai Awakens takes place in the year 2480 where Yukimura Sanada, the famous samurai of Feudal Japan, has been brought back to life to fight off the alien invasion. Seems a little weird to us, but that trailer up above has us itching for a go. Why? Lightsabers! Erm, we mean, “laser swords”, as the press release puts it.
Reborn: A Samurai Awakens will have players fight the evil aliens with ninja-fast melee attacks, as well as dual wielding pistols. To be fair, the trailer looks a little janky, but we’ve been surprised by VR games in the past, so here’s hoping Winking VR can pull it off.
There’s no solid release date as of yet, but stick with Pure PlayStation and we’ll keep you updated.
What do you make of this one? Does it look dead on arrival, or could it be a cherished gem? Fight for honor down in the comments section below.
