It’s been six long years since Rockstar released its seminal Red Dead Redemption on PS3. Since then there’s been hundreds of rumours of sequels, prequels, spin-offs and what not. None have come to fruition, though there’s definitely something a-cookin’ at Rockstar San Diego’s studio.
The developer has been hard at work for the last few years on what we can only assume to be the successor to Red Dead Redemption, and in Take-Two’s latest investor relations call (Take-Two is Rockstar’s parent company) it was noted that Rockstar has been hard at work on future projects and that they’ll be revealed soon.
Not too long ago a supposed map from Red Dead Redemption 2 leaked online, though its authenticity was dubious to say the least, but hopefully we’ll get some clarification in the next few months. Rockstar typically deploys big new releases between March and May, so it’s likely that an announcement could follow soon with a release early next year. Then again, we could be wrong. We’ll just have to wait for Rockstar to stop being so bloody coy about what it’s working on.

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
