Earlier today, Rockstar sent fans into meltdown with its short-but-sweet reveal trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 that’s releasing on PS4 this time next year.
What wasn’t announced straight away was the fact that PS4 players will get “first access to earn select online content” with Red Dead Redemption 2’s online multiplayer. The PlayStation Blog goes on to say that PlayStation and Rockstar are forming a partnership that will net PS4 players extra goodies.
We’re not too hot on exclusive stuff – barring console exclusive games, of course – as it tends to lead to a lot of bitterness within the gaming community. While it’s good for the readership of Pure PlayStation, it’s ultimately a bit of a kick in the teeth to the others who buy the game.
In addition to announcing its new partnership with Rockstar Games, Sony also revealed that the original Red Dead Redemption is coming to PS4, PS Vita, and PC via its subscription service, PlayStation Now. Yes, we know, it’s hardly an ideal way to play John Marston’s epic adventure, but it’s better than nothing.
