Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be one of the biggest games of the year in every sense of the word. PlayStation Universe gives everyone an idea of just how big by looking at the back of the special edition PS4 Pro box. Their eagle eyes have spotted some tiny (so very tiny) print that shows the game will occupy 105 GB of your hard drive. (It’s the line of white text to the right of the ESRB rating.) That is probably just a starting point as patches and updates push it even higher over time.
Let’s be honest here. It wouldn’t matter if I said 305 GB. You and I would still make the room for some Old West action. That doesn’t change the fact that this is an enormous game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see GTA VI and future games in general to start cracking the 200 GB mark in the next generation.
Another detail gleaned from the power of excellent vision is that multiplayer will support from 2-32 players. If we consider that part of those GBs are multiplayer, that would make sense. It also brings us closer to experiencing a shootout with 31 other dusty trail riders, as seen in Tombstone or many of the other delightful films that likely served as inspiration for these games.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will start filling up your PS4 on October 26th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
