After learning to love the Yakuza series with the excellent Yakuza 0 (review), we are very excited to play Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. Outside the story and action, they are filled with games for your characters to play. Yakuza 6 looks like it will up the ante even more.
Sega dropped a new trailer with quick views of what you can expect, and it seems like we will have plenty to keep us occupied between street fights. There is karaoke, darts, arcade games, baseball, charming hostesses, underwater fishing, and some baby shaking. Maybe the baby owes Kiryu money.
This could be the end of Kiryu’s story, but there are a lot of firsts in Yakuza 6. As the first Yakuza title created for the PS4 in Sega’s new “Dragon Engine”, it should look better than ever. The new location of Onimichi provides a scenic area for fun. A new combo system with a single fighting style and an Extreme Heat Mode will make the series’ combat even more alive as you punch a yakuza through a local shop’s window.
Check out the trailer to see all the mini games coming to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life when it punches and kicks its way onto shelves on March 20th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
