Skybound Games have announced Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Definitive Series, a comprehensive bundle of all four seasons of the acclaimed game series.
The bundle, available in both digital and physical editions, contains all four seasons of the series, alongside The Walking Dead: Michonne, the 400 Days DLC and several digital bonuses. In addition, the bundle will include more than 10 hours of developer commentary, behind-the-scenes bonus features including concept and character art galleries, a “Return of The Walking Dead” documentary short and a music player with over 140 musical tracks.
The collection also benefits from a remaster of sorts in the form of the “graphic black” art style, previously only used in the series’ final season. Kent Mudle, Creative Director for The Walking Dead and the Still Not Bitten team at Skybound Games, detailed this unique art style;
“Graphic black is a loving tribute to the source material and a powerful art style that makes the game look like a living comic book” “An idea the team formulated and perfected with The Final Season, this new visual styling offers longtime fans a way to play the series again in a brand-new light while giving new audiences a smooth visual ride across all seasons.”
I reviewed The Walking Dead: The Final Season and loved the Telltale’s conclusion to the long-running series, calling it “the perfect send off for both Clem and Telltale’s definitive series”. Click through for my reviews of Episode 3: Broken Toys and Episode 4: Take Us Back.
Alongside the standard and digital editions, Skybound are offering three special editions with The Protector Pack, The Guardian Pack and The Signature Pack. Unfortunately, orders for all three are now closed on their store, which is a shame because I really need a Disco Brocolli Plush Doll in my life.
With a wealth of content and extras, The Walking Dead: Definitive Series looks to be the ultimate edition of Telltale’s BAFTA-award winning series, for fans both old and new.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Definitive Series is available September 10th 2019, retailing for $49.99/£39.99.
