Reminder: You Can Download Ratchet & Clank Free This Month on PS5, PS4

Sony is running its Play At Home initiative again this year, offering up free games and entertainment to players in an effort to make the socially-distanced lives we’re all living a little bit more joyful.


Free games are always welcome and Sony is providing them. As part of the company’s Play At Home initiative, the platform holder is handing out some freebies to PlayStation players, with the first free game being Ratchet & Clank for PS4.

The Play At Home initiative is running for four months, starting this month, and the first free game being offered is Insomniac’s PS4 remake of the original Ratchet & Clank game for PS4. Bear in mind, you can also download and play the game on PS5.

There are no strings attached and you don’t need to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to benefit; it’s free for everybody. All you need to do is make sure you’ve added the game to your download list before April 1st and the game will be yours to keep for all of eternity. Or until it gets delisted or something…

It’s a nice move by Sony, even if it is a bit of a back-door introduction to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart which releases in June, it will be a welcome freebie for hard-up families looking for ways to stay entertained during these lockdown days.

Even if you don’t intend on playing the game straight away, you can add the game to your download list and it will be yours to download and play at any future date, so make sure you remember to do it before March is over!

Also worth noting is that Sony is partnering with Funimation to offer extended access to Funimation and Wakanim for new users. This is a good one if you’re a fan of anime shows and movies. Not a good one for me, then…
