As this console generation slowly winds down – we are due new consoles this year, mind – there’s no doubt that your trusty hard drive is feeling the pinch. If you’re interested in Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake coming to PS4 on April 3rd, 2020, there’s a good chance you’ll have to sacrifice another game to make room for the zombie shooter.
While we don’t have the PS4’s exact download size, we can make a fair assumption based on what has appeared on the Microsoft Store in relation to Resident Evil 3.
The Microsoft Store lists Resident Evil 3 as being 43GB, almost double that of 2019’s Resident Evil 2. Bear in mind, however, that this is for the Xbox One version of the game and the PS4 version will almost certainly be different, but it’s a good baseline anyway as it’s not likely to be that far off the 43GB size.
If you’ve got an external hard drive plugged into your PS4, you’ll probably be OK. If by some cruel twist of fate you’re still rocking a 500GB PS4 hard drive, it’s either time to upgrade or get an external drive.
