Rocket League has now sold over one million physical copies since its release in June 2015.
It has been available as a digital download for nearly two years, but 505 Games has only been distributing a physical version for little under a year. In regards to its digital sales, it has surpassed 9.5 million on multiple platforms since it launched in 2015.
The majority of disc purchasers are Rocket League noobs, whilst the remainder own the digital version but also want a hard copy.
505 Games has a history of porting games onto discs; they are also responsible for Terraria and Stardew Valley. This digital to physical transition trend is becoming more common, with Ys Origin and Risk of Rain scheduled for release later this year.
