Rockstars’ The Warriors has been released on PS4 after having been released years ago on the PS2 and PSP. It follows on the recent trend of Rockstar re-releasing its old PS2 back-catalogue for the PS4, and in recent months we’ve seen the likes of GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, Bully, and more.
As expected, the PS4 version of The Warriors is running via an emulation that bumps up the visuals to 1080p and a refresh rate of 60 frames-per-second. It’s important to remember, though, that these PS2 games releasing on PS4 aren’t remasters, but instead just old games being run a little better. Still, this one is a pure classic and one of the overlooked gems of the PS2 era, so you can guarantee that we’ll be dipping back into this violent escapade based on the hit movie of the same name.
The only issue we’ve really got is the pricing – it’ll cost you a hefty £11.99/$14.99. Sheesh, bit much, innit? Oh, and the download size is a mere 3.3GB, just in case you were wondering if you’d have to euthanise any of your pre-existing games already installed on your console.
As usual, you’ll be able to gain trophies, take screenshots, record videos, live-stream and remote play this PS2 re-release. Lovely stuff.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
