Another day, another PS5 release date rumour. It’s what we’re living for these days, isn’t it?
This latest rumour comes from Chinese tech site MyDrivers, and to be fair, there is a comprehensive list of details, including release dates and pricing information for the PS5 and its accessories. If they’re true, it’ll be bad news for Western gamers, as the leak suggests that the PS5 will release on November 14th in Sony’s native homeland of Japan, and November 20th for the rest of the world.
Again, this is just a rumour, but if it’s true, those six days will feel like years. It’ll also be against what Sony did with the PS4’s release. The PlayStation 4 released on November 15th, 2013 in North America, November 29th in most other regions of the world, and February 22nd, 2014 in Japan.
The leak also suggests that the pricing of the PS5 and its digital counterpart will be expensive, with the Blu-Ray version coming in $100/£100/€100 more than the all-digital version, which is priced at $399/£349/€399.
I can’t tell you how reliable MyDrivers is as a website, but the details do seem somewhat plausible, and it’s around that time where Sony is preparing to open PS5 pre-orders. So, the details must be out there somewhere. We’ll see soon enough though. In the meantime, you might want to start putting some pennies to the side in preparation.
