Rumour has it that Telltale Games, the studio behind The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Batman, and more, will be shutting its doors and powering down its desktops for the last time once the current – and final – season of The Walking Dead is finished.
Word first started spreading via Twitter that Telltale Games is close to bankruptcy and that all projects, aside from The Walking Dead, are now cancelled. It was also sad that a “skeleton crew” of staff is all that’s left to finish off The Walking Dead.
Then The Verge piped up with a story saying that multiple sources had told the outlet that Telltale Games had let go of a large number of staff today, and that only a team of around 25 remain at the studio, presumably to finish off The Walking Dead’s final season.
It’s sad news for sure and everyone here at Pure PlayStation hopes all that are now unemployed find work soon. At the same time, though, it just seems so unbelievable that Telltale Games, the famed developer behind so many great games, would be nearing bankruptcy.
