Mixed Realms and Perp Games have announced today that Sairento VR will be slashing and shooting its way onto PSVR next month, and that it’ll also be getting a physical release for those who want a disc to fling like a ninja star.
Sairento VR is a ninja action game that allows players to run, jump, wall run, power slide, flip, and fight against hoards of enemies with a diverse arsenal of weapons, including swords and guns. It’s pretty mental to watch and I can’t imagine that our Stuart McLean would fare too well in this one; he gets really bad VR sickness. If you’re also prone to the VR wobbles, this might not be the game for you.
If you are interested in Sairento VR, bear in mind that you’ll need to have two PS Move wand controllers in order to play the game. DualShock 4’s and PSVR Aim controllers have no place in this game.
Sairento VR takes place in a reimagined futuristic Japan where players must fight the sinister forces to bring order to the corrupted world. Fighting and running and jumping are big features of this game and the developers have worked hard to implement a control scheme that works for the PS Move wand controllers. However, if you also own the 3dRudder foot controller, you can use it with Sairento VR.
Sairento VR will release on July 30th for PS4/PSVR and pre-orders will be opening soon. In the meantime, check out the quick features down below.
- Single Player Campaign Mode – Players looking to skirt the shadows solo can delve into the full single-player campaign, tasked with identifying the root of corruption within the Silent Ones organization. To find the truth, they must face off against mutated samurais, devious ninjas, creepy robot geishas and hulking sumo wrestlers.
- Single- or Multiplayer Challenge Modes – In addition to a single-player campaign and challenge modes, Sairento offers a standalone mission mode that can be tackled solo or cooperatively with another player.
- Action Hero Prowess – With the ability to slow time down, players can perform the artistic executions of their choice to become the ultimate ninja badass. In addition to the range of combat choices, players can perform a wide range of acrobatics, leaping 15 feet into the air, performing double jumps, running across walls and sliding across the floor to outmaneuver enemies.
- Fully Loaded Arsenal – Including all base game weapons and the “Sairento VR – Weapons Pack” DLC from the PC version, the physical edition offers a variety of armaments for players to adapt their tactics to best suit their own style. Katanas, guns, bows, kunais and throwing glaives can all be enhanced with relics to equip the player as they contend against the ever-present cyber ninja threat. And really, anything can become a projectile weapon with the right modifications.
