Fans of Ms Croft can sleep easy in the knowledge that her forthcoming adventure has reached a definite milestone and appears all set to hit store shelves in little over a month. Square Enix has announced that Shadow of The Tomb Raider has gone gold meaning there’s little left to be done before it graces our consoles.
However, although the base game may have been given the green light, there’s undoubtedly still plenty for Eidos Montreal to be getting on with, with regards to its post launch DLC roadmap. The developer is still being kept busy with the season pass content, which was previously revealed to comprise of seven so called paths. These “paths” will each be brimming with new tombs and challenges, amongst other goodies.
The completion of the main development effort didn’t go uncelebrated by staff at Eidos Montreal, who took to Twitter to publish a celebratory group photo. Although we’re a little disappointed by the lack of party hats and poppers; if we’d just completed a mammoth task like Shadow of The Tomb Raider, we’d throw a massive bash with pineapple-cheese on sticks and a balloon modeler… Each to their own!
Shadow of The Tomb Raider will be swinging into stores on September 14th. It’s ready, but the question is, are you?
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has gone gold! Lara’s defining moment is out of @EidosMontreal’s hard-working hands & on its way to manufacturing. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC/Steam on September 14. pic.twitter.com/6XTwzuMVnP
