Simulation Racer Assetto Corsa Competizione Will Get a Next-Gen Upgrade This Year

Developer KUNOS-Simulazioni has announced via a press release that Assetto Corsa Competizione will be getting a next-gen upgrade for the new consoles, including the PS5, at some point later this year.

And… that’s it. There’s not much else to say. There are no extra details to be gleaned from the presser and there’s no release window for the next-gen update, nevermind an actual release date.

That being said, a next-gen upgrade might just be what the game needs. I tried to review Assetto Corsa Competizione last year on PS4 Pro and I just couldn’t do it. The game wasn’t in a great state and many agree that it really should not have released when it did; it just wasn’t ready nor was it good enough.

Here’s to hoping that the PS5 version of Assetto Corsa Competizione is a better experience than what shipped on the last-gen consoles. Heck, it might even be worth having a look at the PS4 version running on PS5.
