The Skate series has been in hiding for years, with fans flocking to social media in an effort to get EA to bring the series back. Well, it is coming back and potentially as Skate 4, and we might even get a quick peek at the game very, very soon.
For many, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is the definitive skating series, even with the epic fails fuelled by Activision’s poor handling.
For others, EA’s Skate series is what skating games are all about. I’m… not getting involved in that argument. Not today.
EA is bringing Skate back, potentially as Skate 4, but when will we actually get to see the game? It’s been a long time coming but Skate 4 is in production with developer Full Circle, but it’s going to take a while according to the studio.
The developer took to Twitter this evening to let everybody know that Skate 4 won’t be at EA Play Live, but we’ll be getting a little something anyway.
“What have we been up to? Well, we formed a studio back in January, got a bunch of super talented people to join the family, and we’ve been working hard on the new game. Now, we know many of you were hoping to see more from us this week but we’re not ready for prime time just yet and we won’t be part of the EA Play Live show on Thursday. It’s still early and we are committed to doing this thing right which means it’s gonna take some time. Our number one goal is not to blow. For you, for us… for Skate. HOWEVER, we are stoked to share a little something with you all tomorrow.”
A little something? A screenshot? A teaser trailer? Tony Hawk being marched naked across a stage wearing nothing but a gimp suit? All three? That would be perfect, wouldn’t it?
