Too lazy to get off your porky bum to go and throw a ball around the park? Don’t trust yourself to not main the neighbourhood kids with a javelin? Fine, have it your way, then. From July 25th you’ll be able to compete like an Olympian in Smoots Summer Games, all without breaking the tiniest bit of a sweat.
JanduSoft and Kaneda Games have announced today that they’ll be releasing Smoots Summer Games on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on July 25th, 2019. The game is a compilation of popular athletic disciplines, including pole vaulting, javelin throwing, swimming, and that one where you spin on the spot and then lob a massive ball. I’m not an athletics person… I don’t know the real name.
There are a total of 18 different events to take part in. You can play by yourself, or you can go head-to-head with 1-4 players. There’s a practice mode, special challenge mode and the Championship. It looks a little simple, I’ll admit that, but it kind of reminds me of the Wii Sports on the Nintendo Wii – that game looked simple but it was massive fun… for an hour.
Smoots Summer Games isn’t asking for much money; the game will cost $9.99/9.99€. Cheap and cheerful? Hopefully.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
