We got a nice little surprise yesterday when developers Rebellion took to the internet and announced that Sniper Elite 4 would be coming to PS4 in 2016. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but we’d estimate the tail end of the summer because while the series is well established we don’t think it’s big enough to compete October/November’s strong line-up of games.
Details are scarce at the moment, but we do have a few. The story follows Karl Fairburne who is dropped into Italy during 1943 in advance of an Ally invasion. However, his simple assassination assignment turns out to be a little more complicated than originally thought and Karl ends up uncovering a conspiracy that could thwart Ally plans for good.
The other most noteworthy piece of information we have is that the game is huge. Like really really huge. Apparently the location in the teaser is just one part of a coastal town from early in the game, but there will be many many more large sandbox locations to snipe in. It could take a few hours to complete just one.
That is all. Expect the game sometime in 2016, but for now you’ll just have to be contempt with the teaser down below. Enjoy.

Conor is Pure PlayStation’s resident Irishman. Naturally that means he’s constantly slurring his words and turning up stinking of Guiness with a potato in his pocket. It’s not all bad though, because Conor is also a PlayStation nut. When he’s not doing his best Father Jack impression (Father Ted, watch it) he’s got a DualShock 4 in his hand and a Vita in the other. Yeah, we don’t know how he manages it either.
