Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Teaser Trailer Shows Extreme Long-Range Assassination

CI Games and Koch Media have shared a brand new teaser trailer today for the upcoming Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, and it’s not one to be played while the kids are running around, let me tell you that.

The new trailer shows a sniper assassin lying down in the dirt on a far off hillside pulling the trigger on a sniper rifle. We then follow the bullet’s path towards its eventual target, making contact with the target’s forehead before leaving a nice big bloody hole in the back of his head. Gruesome stuff, then, but what’s impressive is that it’s an extreme long-range headshot pulled off at a distance of 1506 meters. I can’t even throw a bit of paper into the bin from 0.9 meters…

“The Sniper community really enjoyed the changes we made with Contracts and the sniper’s paradise sandboxes but, based on their feedback, we designed the latest game with very long-range shots in mind,” said CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski. “We hope to continue building on the best sniping gameplay around and make significant steps forward in bringing modern, realistic sniping experience to consoles and PC. Our team is really excited to introduce the extreme range campaign in Contracts 2.”

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will release later this year, though there’s no word yet on which platforms it will release. The presser notes that the game features a more “grounded and relevant experience” set in the modern-day Middle East, and will feature “heightened realism” and “enhanced visuals.” I’d say that sounds like next-gen talk to me, but we’ll have to wait and see.

CI Games and Koch Media recently announced their partnership where Koch Media will handle publishing duties for the game, and the duo have promised more info will be released over the coming months. In other words, the hype train is still at the station picking up passengers, and it’ll set off its journey when the conditions are right.
