If you’ve signed up to be a beta tester for previous firmware updates, it might be a good idea to check your emails as Sony is starting to send out invites for the forthcoming PSN name change update.
I’ve previously signed up for beta tests and I’ve yet to receive an email, so don’t be disappointed if you don’t find something in your inbox. However, if you do, you’ll be prompted to download the 6.10 firmware update and change your username, if you so desire. But, like, c’mon, of course you will change your name. Nobody wants to be xXx420KingxXx forever…
The name change system is in beta until later this year before being rolled out to everyone early next year. The first name change will be free, but any changes after the initial first change will cost you some cold, hard dollar.
