If you’ve been neglecting the wrist straps on your PS Move wands when playing PSVR, you’ve got just over a month to familiarise yourself with them – something of a necessity for the upcoming PSVR competitive sports game Sparc.
Writing over on the official PlayStation Blog, CCP Games Atlanta’s Morgan Godat announced that Sparc will release on PS4/PSVR this August 29th for $29.99/£24.99, as well as stressing how important those little straps will be.
Sparc got a very nice reception at this year’s E3 with press and players alike donning the PSVR headset to lob virtual balls at each other. Here’s the description given by the developer:
“Sparc is a virtual sport – a unique full-body experience only possible in virtual reality, where your VR equipment is your sports gear. The game play is fast-paced and physical. Players use their two PlayStation Move motion controllers to throw projectiles across the court at their opponent*, while also dodging, blocking or deflecting incoming shots.”
Given the big focus on the game’s multiplayer – single player is series of timed challenges – we’ll be interested to see how well it fares upon release. Before the big day does come, the developer has promised to show more of the game’s single player content at this year’s Gamescom.
For those who pre-order the game via the PSN, there’s a nifty little discount. You can pre-order through here.
Naturally, we’ll do our best to bring you a review in good time, so stick with Pure PlayStation and we’ll keep you updated with everything PS4, PS Vita, and PSVR. Not PS3, though, because seriously, who’s still playing that thing?
