Insomniac Games’ latest Spider-Man game has managed to crawl up the sales charts in the UK this week, but how come?
The PlayStation 5 has struggled to make a dent in the UK Sales Chart because its stock is often limited or bought with dubious intent. But a recent surge in available units – both of its hardware and software – has actually seen a number of titles return to a top spot. And even the games that aren’t represented in the places from one to ten have done well this week. For starters, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is now sitting in fourth place – having enjoyed a surge in demand of 264%.
Comparatively, Demon’s Souls did even better; its physical sales were up a whopping 401%. But due to its niche nature, that only saw it climb to seventeenth. Still, it’s a climb nonetheless and one Sony will be happy with. But that’s not the only good news for PlayStation in the charts this week.
That’s because there were actually a handful of PlayStation games in the UK’s Top Ten, for once. Something we rarely see due to the dominance shown by Nintendo, which goes to show just how much things can be shaken up when supplies aren’t impeded.
Still, let’s see how long this change lasts – I assume we’ll be back to the usual line-up next year. Sceptical, I know, but also probably true…
Anyway, here’s the full Top Ten list for your perusal. Enjoy!
