Square Enix’s twitter was hacked by a small group of idiots today. After targeting the European account and the account for Just Cause (Why, hackers? Why?), they ranted about EA and FIFA and were generally little morons to everyone. They also began to block or unfollow people, driving the total number of followers from 151,000 to around 50,000.
Twitter has locked down the account, and the number of followers has been restored. Square Enix made an official statement on Twitter letting everyone know the issue has been resolved.
As usual, there are always some turds in the punch bowl. We can only hope this is the last time they perform these annoying little antics.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
