Next-gen re-releases are still hot stuff during these early days of the new console generation, so it’s no surprise that EA is jumping in with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which will supposedly release in a couple of weeks.
Respawn’s well-received Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is set to get a next-gen release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, though publisher EA has not yet confirmed the existence of the next-gen port, there is mounting evidence that it exists and that it’ll be here quite soon.
Brazilian retailers are listing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a June 26th release date, which some European retailers are promoting the game with a June 11th release date. It’s worth noting that June 11th is the day E3 2021 officially begins, so this could be the first of EA’s announcements, especially if it’s a free upgrade for those who already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One. To be able to say “and right now you can get the next-gen upgrade for free” would be a nice little win for EA indeed, especially if it’s followed up by a shadow drop for some DLC, or maybe the announcement of a sequel.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has already had an update to improve the game when running on the new PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, but a true next-gen port with some extra bells and whistles will do just nicely. I might even go back in and get them missing achievements.
