Strategic Shooter Lemnis Gate Announced; Coming Early 2021
Lemnis Gate is a fascinating idea. It takes the shooter genre and makes it a strategic puzzle where you have to outthink your opponent in levels that only last 25 seconds. I’ll try to explain. Matches take place in 1v1 or 2v2 arenas. Each player can perform an action, but you only have 25 seconds in your round with five rounds total.
The actions will depend on what your opponent is doing. Your turn can be used to setup an ambush to shoot them when their character will arrive at a certain position. Your opponent can change an action to not be there on their next turn. You’ll have to think a few moves ahead and try to understand where you’ll be in relation to where someone else will be. The trailer gives you a look at how this works in more detail.
This unique way of setting up the perfect plan will change from round to round. When you think you have it mastered, another player will catch on, forcing you to change your strategy. With only 25 seconds per round, it will still be a fast-paced game that rewards quick decisionmaking.
It’s only been announced today with a release date in early 2021, but I’m looking forward to seeing more of Lemnis Gate soon.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
