Dotemu and Lizardcube have announced today that Streets of Rage 4 will be properly brought into the modern era of gaming by including online co-op for up to four players, as well as traditional offline couch co-op for up to four players. But there are only three characters, I hear you cry. Wrong!
As well as confirming the multiplayer options for Streets of Rage 4, the developers have revealed the fourth and final fighter, Floyd. The new playable bad-guy basher gets his very own introduction in the new trailer released today, which you can watch up above.
The new character, Floyd, dishes out serious damage with his incredibly strong cybernetic arms, a cutting-edge upgrade courtesy of Streets of Rage 3’s playable cyborg, Dr. Zan. Although Floyd’s movement and health recovery are slower than most, he boasts the longest reach among the playable roster and tremendous power, ensuring any combo he puts an enemy through will be devastating.
If you want to go hands-on with Streets of Rage 4 before the game’s official release, you can mosey on down to booth 28051 at PAX EAST 2020 and do some button mashing for yourself.
