Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey showed off some new ways to kill those pesky RPG villains. In addition to special attacks, the team will be able to fill a Linkage Gauge by chaining attacks. Once the gauge is full, they can unleash mighty Chain Attacks that allow everyone to pummel the enemy for increased damage.
Brand new to the series is the character’s ability to equip two sub-weapons. Each weapon can have different effects and cause a different type of damage give you a little more flexibility in battle.
Check out the video of the boss fight to see the Chain Attack and sub-weapons utilized in a boss-battle. Atelier Firis looks like a vintage RPG with the characters pausing to choose attacks and use items, and that is not a bad thing.
If this game is making you look for space in this cluttered release season, you will not have to wait long. Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey will release on March 10th for both the PS4 and the PS Vita.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
