A new trailer for The Liar Princess and The Blind Prince shows off some of the gameplay you can expect. The princess will need to use her brains to solve the puzzles blocking the path, but it’s not all high IQ. She can turn into her true form of a wolf and rend enemies to bits. Both approaches are necessary if you are going to help the prince through the woods to find the witch who can restore his sight.
It looks as if she was responsible for the optical failure in the first place. Guiding the prince seems to be her way to make up for it, but there is clearly a deeper motive behind her actions. If she restores his sight, and he learns that she is wolf, will he still want her near him? (Wipe away the tears if you need.) This is a fairy tale that seems to tug at your heartstrings, while the wolf is gnawing on those of the enemy.
The overall visual style does look a little like a book. There are lines around objects that appear to be hand-drawn and shading on characters that looks to be filled by pencils without looking scribbled. It’s a nice effect.
The Liar Princess and The Blind Prince will tell it’s story on February 12th. There is a limited edition of the game that includes “The Little Liar’s Fairy Tale” book and the “Lullabies for the Blind Prince” soundtrack. You can see it at NIS America’s store, and it will cost $39.99 (USD).
As usual, give the trailer a watch to see the game in action. Despite it’s sad overtones, it’s very peaceful.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
