If you’re looking for a new RTS game to get your teeth stuck into, then look no further than Northgard which has just released on PS4 after a successful release on Nintendo Switch last week.
Northgard is a real-time strategy game, not unlike Age of Empires, where you build a base, grow your army, manage your resources, and then go on a pillaging spree. That’s a simplification, obviously, but you get the general gist of it.
Northgard originally released on Steam some time ago where it was well-received by players and critics alike, going on to sell over 1 million copies. Impressive stuff indeed.
The console release of Northgard comes with all the original content, the single-player campaign, online multiplayer, as well as the Ragnarok and Relics updates. The game has also been tweaked for consoles with an updated user-interface made for optimal play on game controllers. A good control scheme is vital to a good console RTS, so it’s nice to see the developers at Shiro Games have put in the work on that front.
Northgard is available now on the PlayStation Store for $34.99/€34.99/£31.49, and physical editions are being published at retail by Merge Games.
