SEGA has announced that Team Sonic Racing won’t be making its original window of late 2018, but will instead release next year.
In a post over on the official Sonic the Hedgehog twitter account, it is state that the game will now release on May 21st, 2019, and that the delay is to give the developers more time to work on the game. It’s also noted that the team knows delays are no fun, but quality is what matters most. To be fair, after the last decade of Sonic games, it’s about time SEGA took quality seriously. Sonic Mania excluded, of course, but that’s more the exception than the rule, unfortunately.
Hopefully this means the game will be in tip-top shape come release, but it’s still a bummer that the game is another six months away. Ah well, there’s always Red Dead Redemption 2 to pass the time…
Hey guys! To make Team Sonic Racing the best game it can be, we’re giving the team extra time to work on it. Our new release date is May 21, 2019.
We know delays are no fun, but quality matters most. Thanks for your patience – we’ve got more to show you for TSR very soon!

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
