Today is the day that half-shell loving kids and man-children have been looking forward to for quite a while. It’s the day that Platinum Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan released on PS4 and PS3. More importantly, it’s the day we lost a little bit of respect for Platinum and Activision.
To put it simply, the game is balls, but that’s something we’ll talk about later. For the moment, we’re just going to inform players/would-be players that the online portion of the game just doesn’t seem to work at all. We’ve tried getting into co-op for the last 3 hours and have had only minor success. The game either cuts back to the main menu or, as happened on one occasion, crashed the PS4 completely. We’re more than a little bummed that it’s so shoddy from the day of release, and after looking around the internet, speaking with friends and other news sites, we’ve learned that we’re not the only one’s having such a torrid time with the game.
Back to the sewers with you, Activision and Platinum. We’ll be posting our review in the next day or two so be sure to check back in, but in the mean time we’ll have a quick write-up just to give some early impressions. Hint: They ain’t good, dudes.
We sometimes link to online retail stores. If you buy something from our links, we may make a small commission which goes towards keeping the lights on and coffee in the pot.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
