UPDATE: The physical version of The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure will be coming to both NA and the EU on September 6th. The story has been updated to reflect the new date, added pricing, and a link to pre-order the game if it floats your boat or sub in this case.
If you think about it, Angry Birds is probably one of the most successful games of all time, and it’s not slowing down. In addition to a new movie release next month, The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure will be hitting retail shelves near you. The game pits the forces of both birds and pigs against a common threat.
They will need to travel to Eagle Island by submarine, and here is where the gameplay is a little different. One person will be able to wear the PSVR helmet of awesome-ness, and up to three other people can play in co-op to help run the sub by watching the TV. Along the way, your brave crew can enjoy the temporary truce by picking up some treasure from the sea.
It’s an interesting concept, and it’s one that XR Games CEO, Bobby Thandi thinks is important to expanding the medium. He describes the importance of the game’s social aspect as follows:
“VR is an exciting medium, but there are not yet enough games that can be enjoyed with family and friends in the real world. We saw an opportunity to introduce new players to PS VR by making a game in which VR and TV players have different viewpoints and responsibilities within the same funny, team-spirited game.”
If you want to add this experience to your growing library of VR games, the physical version of The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure will be available September 6th in North America and the EU. It will run $34.99 USD, and you can pre-order the game here.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
